"My name is Nora, it sounds like girls name, but I am a boy. My mother is Japanese, she is a bit eccentric. Nora can mean homeless/stray in Japanese; she wished I would grow up to be sturdy like an alley cat and thus gave me this name. Because of the name, I’m a bit feminine more than other boys. My hobby is flower gardening. But I like this name, it may sound odd but it is special."

"Actually, because of this name, I came back from death several times. When I was a child, I got a serious illness, but the difficult operation turned out to be a success. Once, I found myself in trouble while in traffic, the car knocked me over a fence, and all I had was a scratch. Oh, I also was kidnapped by a woman, whom my father was unfaithful with. She was about to kill me, but somehow I’m still here. So, I think I’m invulnerable. Yet, only one I was in front of the door to Heaven. I also got fired from my job, though not my fault, there was a recession and I was negligent about my life. During another time, my friend took me camping. I went fishing, but got distracted by some beautiful flowers on the other side of the river. I slipped and fell from the rocks into the river rapids, the water overcame me. I thought I was going to die this time, but after I came to, I was standing in a place I haven’t seen before."

After he came to his senses, he was standing on road. He could see something that looked like pictures. He could see at his side a picture of the river where he got the trouble, then another with the company he used to work for, one with “the setting sun” he used to watch with his lover, one with the school he used to go to, one with the scary woman who his father was unfaithful with…

Nora remembered that terrifying memory of being kidnapped, and was overtaken by fear. Suddenly a crying child version of Nora appeared in front of the picture. Nora nervously moved close to his child self, and pets him gently. “It’s ok; you were safe after it happened…” Soon Nora began to feel a bit better too.

He got the impression that all of the pictures are memories from parts of his life. He even saw a photo of when he was just born. The road still continued, so he thought he could get to heaven if he followed the road. But he noticed more pictures farther away, than around him. When he tried to go to them, a mysterious voice called him.

Then appeared a large white bird, and it spoke to him: “Nora, you are not supposed to come here. My work is carrying innocent spirits, but I can carry you to place where you should be” the white bird said, with a wiggle of his head feather. Nora thought, I arrived here through deadly pain and if I go back to the world, I will live with fear of painful death, and thought he would return to this place again. Another thing caught his attention were the pictures down the path. So he said no thank you to the white bird, and then continued on his way.
